We're on a Streak ... SSC Named a Best Place to Work for 14th Time!
Fifteen area southeast Minnesota companies were recently recognized as the “Best Places to Work” in Southeast Minnesota for 2025. SSC was one of the recipients in the small employers category.
SSC’s Executive Director Steve Sallee shared that ,“We are incredibly honored to be recognized as one of the Best Places to Work. This achievement reflects the dedication and vision of the SSC Board, whose support has been instrumental in shaping our inclusive and thriving workplace culture. We also extend our sincere thanks to WDI for their partnership and continued commitment to excellence.”
Workforce Development, Inc. (WDI) and the Workforce Development Boards of Southeast Minnesota and Winona work together on what they call a “respected regional initiative (that) celebrates companies that go above and beyond in cultivating exceptional workplace cultures throughout Southeast Minnesota.”
SSC Honored with mspWellness Champion Designation
We're thrilled to share that Southeast Service Cooperative has been honored as a mspWellness Champion. This designation was created by the Minneapolis Chamber/Health Department and SHIP to honor organizations, statewide, that that develop, implement, and promote wellness programs as part of their organizational culture.
At SSC, we’ve fostered an environment that places work-life harmony at the forefront. We offer a variety of opportunities for staff members to connect with one another. We incorporate all of the dimensions of wellness into our robust employee well-being programming. A flexible workplace environment allows employees the freedom to fit activity or other life obligations into their day.

This robust guide is a foundational resource aimed at helping employers accelerate health equity within their workforce.

It's Gold Once Again for SSC!
The American Heart Association, a global force for healthier lives for all, has awarded Southeast Service Cooperative (SSC) national Gold level recognition for its commitments to employee health and well-being as measured in the Association’s 2024 Workforce Well-being Scorecard. The Scorecard brings together the latest research and insights from industry experts to help business leaders build a science-backed, employee-centric culture of health and well-being. The tool allows employees to evaluate how their organization’s policies and procedures compare to leading best practices in areas such as mental health support, addressing burnout, health equity considerations, and more. SSC has won Gold status from the Heart Association multiple times.
Championing well-being, a healthy mind, heart, and body for employees is good for their health and business outcomes. In general, healthy employees are more productive and use less sick time, and organizations that create a culture of health in the workplace can improve employee retention and organizational reputation.
