Meet the Advisors
Bruce Klaehn has 41 years experience as an educator in Minnesota. After 13 years as an elementary teacher and high school coach in Madelia, he began a career of 28 years in school administration. He first served as an elementary principal in Granada-Huntley-East Chain, followed by 9 years as superintendent in Grand Meadow, and completed his career with 10 years as superintendent in Dover-Eyota in 2015. He has participated in successful bond issue and operating levy referendums in both schools where he served as superintendent, as well as overseeing successful building projects in both those districts. He also has extensive experience in school finance, contract negotiations, strategic planning, legislative advocacy, superintendent mentoring, and school board relations. He and his wife Lynette have four children and eight grandchildren.
Gary Kuphal has 40 years of experience in education. 34 years of his career were as an administrator with roles as middle school principal, junior high principal, assistant high school principal, high school principal, and superintendent. He began teaching in Iowa and spent the past 36 in southeastern Minnesota, including: Henderson, Cleveland, La Crescent, Southland, LeRoy-Ostrander, and most recently, Plainview-Elgin-Millville. Areas of expertise include successful operating levy referendums, budget reductions, superintendent mentoring, and contract negotiations. He and his wife Carol have four children and ten grandchildren.
