Minnesota Learning Loop, created by TIES, is a database of online science resources linked to the Minnesota Academic Standards. Resources can be located by searching by grade level, MN standard, resource type, technology used, or keywords. The resultsare displayed with descriptions and live links to web sources. In addition, some resources have been sorted into the following categories: Student Learning Tools, Teacher Portals and Online Communities.
MarcoPolo: Science NetLinks provides a wealth of resources for K-12 science educators, including standards-based lesson plans indexed according to specific benchmarks and grade ranges. Each lesson is tied to at least one learning goal and uses research-based instructional strategies that support student learning. The lessons are written for the teacher, but include student-ready materials and online interactive student activities and explorations.
Project 2061 Benchmarks Online specifies how students should progress toward science literacy, recommending what they should know and be able to do by the time they reach certain grade levels, including benchmarks for science, mathematics, and technology by the end of grades 2, 5, 8, and 12. The grade demarcations suggest reasonable checkpoints for estimating student progress toward science literacy goals.
